'Please, don't believe dr.Hang's theory that orthodontic treatment by him can resolve your OSA or pain issues if you are adult. Be aware that his Ego is big and he gets quite agitated if you come forward with facts in your own case that somehow don't confirm or challenge his theory in any way! The other aspect of his work that I would like to address is his rudeness with people that he evaluates as "insignificant" - not famous, powerless in a way that he determines in relation to his reputation. My first visit at his office on the way to X-ray room he tried to sell his work to me not even realizing that he addressed me : "you are an old Goat" after which his assistant and I were stunned!!! I have been told and threatened on several occasions by his wife and him that "straight teeth was never part of the deal". I was left wit severe damage to TMJ ligaments, clicking of the jaw. I agree I had very similar experience. Will not listen to patient. Very up in the clouds in his grand ideas rather than focusing down to earth on the real patient before him who is paying a lot to be treated! Does good job at times but fails to listen to patients concerns as not all cases are the same. Very harsh at times quality of work making devices to open space poor. And if doesn't fit or work he won't believe you. Does not allow patient to be part of decision making process. Does not address concerns. I had braces with him for 3.5 years along with a major joint surgery. After the surgery there were still problems. Sleep apnea was one of them. Had to have tonsillectomy 1 mo after braces removed and was unable to wear retainer for a time and then would not fit. Had open spaces waiting for implants and needed to get back to see him as soon as possible but was given hard time by office and rude note as to should have worn retainer despite I had a difficult tonsillectomy and he was the one who referred me. There was no empathy or understanding that i really wasn't able to wear the retainer. I have had total joint replacement surgery of tmjs. It was crucial to get help ASAP as no dr where I live would see me bc such complicated case. They wanted me to negotiate a new fee after paying already thousands of dollars. He refused to see me even after i agreed to pay or do whatever it would take. He was upset bc I honestly told him he needed to learn to listen to his patients. And emailed to his wife about his bedside manner. I basically am now 6 weeks after tonsils out spaces closed up and in pain. Cannot chew teeth totally off. Have seen new orthodontist and being referred to oral surgeon bc case has deteriorated signific
