Rating Feedback for Dr. Lipov (807707)
'I had been a patient in good standing with Dr. Lipovs practice for over 2 years, sometimes seeing him and other times an associate in his office. I found Dr. Lipov to be rude and abrasive, and non empathetic most times. When the associate left his practice I was told he would no longer see me as a patient because I only required medicine for pain control and he was interested in only working with patients he could help via procedures. I was given 30 days notice (the min. required by law) to find a new pain doctor and no referral was given by him. He is an intelligent doctor, however his mannerisms are cold and I found him to be very unconcerned with my well being once he could no longer do invasive, costly procedures.'
I had a similar experience with Dr Lipov several years ago. He was helpful in prescribing diagnostic tests to help figure out what was going on with me. It ended up being a diagnosis by exclusion...what didn't I have based on diagnostic tests at the time. But as soon as Dr Lipov realized I was just a medication management patient and there weren't any other procedures he could perform to help me, he told me as much and said he wouldn't see me anymore but his associate would. I DID NOT appreciate being pawned off on his associate that I didn't know. I had a relationship with Dr Lipov and didn't want to be transferred to his associates care. So I left the practice. I think some of Dr Lipov's attitude and actions can be rationalized by the fact that he trained as a surgeon in Eastern Europe. Surgeons generally like to cut and find solutions to problems rather than admit something is chronic and only manageable with meds (copay's are a whole heck of a lot lower for med management too!).
