Rating Feedback for Dr. Cobden (2393139)

The rating:
'My 10-yr-old son went to him for a knee cap that kept slipping out of place. Dr. Cobden recommended a total knee replacement. I felt that was a bit drastic for my son, so I got a second and third opinion. The growth plates on his knees where not done growing and a knee replacement would have destroyed his knee giving him lifelong problems. If you are told to get surgery at any age, get at least two more opinions to make sure you are doing the right thing.'

I have never, and would never, recommend knee replacement on anyone under 21. An appropriate operation for a kneecap problem as described above would be soft tissue repair only. This criticism is perplexing, and I find some of the other comments equally so.
