'Wisdom teeth extraction appt for my daughter was made in Aug for a Nov appt. Then notify me 2weeks prior to surgery to tell me the balance due, when I questioned why so much more $ than what they quoted me originally, they told me they no longer accept MetLife. Maybe the staff should of notified their patients of this change. $500 more than what I paid for my son in August. Office manager is very nasty!!!'

What I find most interesting about this "complaint" is that it is in fact a compliment. First, the woman admits that I performed surgery on her daughter several months before she brought her son to me. She must have been happy with the care I rendered to her daughter or she would have never returned with her son! I take this as a great compliment that after treating one of her children she is so confident in my abilities and my staff that she returns to the office. In fact, I have a completed survey from them proving that I exceeded their expectation and they were happy with all aspects of their care including insurance processing.

Second, my office staff identified that I no longer participated in their insurance at least two weeks before their scheduled appointment and notified them of the change well in advance. This was done so that the patient and parents were not responsible or surprised by having to pay more out of pocket by receiving a bill after the surgery.

By being transparent and upfront with fees and copayments, we allow our patients to make choices.

I encourage all prospective patients to make educated decisions for themselves. I invite anyone who may require my services to come to my office and sit with me personally, see for themselves our beautiful state of the art facilities and meet our compasionate and caring staff.
