Only good can come from transparency, especially the fact that one can have honor in knowing they did the right thing and were accountable for their actions. Unfortunately some doctors' inflated egos prevent them from accepting responsibility.
It astounds me how doctors so easily move on after their carelessness results in a death or maiming, and the excuses they conjure up to make themselves feel better.
I know I could never live with myself if I knew my actions, or lack thereof, resulted in someone’s death.
I really like what Dr. Leape is doing.

However, I've also studied how medmal ins. co. view the "apology"
Believe me ....it can only happen after the NOT GUILTY verdict for the
dr.
Otherwise, "sorry' means guilty and if a dr. says it, the ins co will NOT
defend the dr.
