Svetlanka, you may need to

Svetlanka, you may need to provide your IP address to RateMDs as proof of your association with the rating. IP addresses of raters are recorded with ratings, regardless of log-in status.

A simple way of discovering your IP address is to go to http://www.whatismyip.com. Write that number down as the IP address issued by your ISP can periodically change. If you made the rating fairly recently, you may still have the same IP address.

Maybe you could reply to the

Maybe you could reply to the rating, with an apology and/or an explanation, and then place another rating.

Since the first anonymous rating may never be identified as being you, then in this case you can make more than one rating, and I would give top marks in all categories to help to counterbalance your initial poor rating.

You could add a comment to your new rating to state exactly what you have done and why.

That is a good suggestion, Wisher.

Also I might add this is why patients should try to discuss their problems with the doctor before they post a negative rating. If you don't feel comfortable confronting them face to face or on the phone then write a letter. That will at least give the doctor an opportunity to respond.

Please

If the second rating is asssociated with the same IP address as the first, it'll appear to be a double rating by the same user, and possibly deleted.

Unfortunately, this does nothing to help the rater who posted without an account and later wishes to have the rating removed.

FAQ #14 almost appears to suggest that a non-registered user can register after rating, and via their new account, access and edit or delete a rating made prior to registering.
