We're so very proud of you Kiddoc!! What a selfless and giving thing to have done.

Oh, those poor, poor people.....

We should all have some such experience at some time in our lives.........I can see where it would be life changing.

What a great thing to do,

What a great thing to do, Doctor!!

You certainly deserve to be recognized for your humanitarian efforts. I don't imagine that too many would leave the comforts of their homes and/or practices to work in those conditions.

Wow kiddoc. You are amazing

Wow kiddoc. You are amazing and someone I would call a hero and professional in every sense of the word. Way to go. Smiling

Yay Kiddoc!!!!! Seriously,

Yay Kiddoc!!!!!
Seriously, it must have been a really hard thing to do given the lack of support from every possible level.

edit: just had to correct a typo Eye-wink

Wonderful story!! What a

Wonderful story!! What a generous & truly kind person he must be. Thank you Dr. Marcus!!!

I don't mean in any way to lessen the worth of this type of work & I admire every overseas volunteer. But, I always wonder how much volunteer work the doctors do here at home. We have so much urban poverty & horrible rural poverty pockets that receive much less attention. All we have to do is ride into the country (Tennessee) to see tragic situations. I know myself people who cannot afford medical care & dental is unheard of.

Don't mean to detract at all from the great generosity of Dr. Marcus--just that many seem to not know that there are serious needs here at home.

Patient,

Did you see the link to "Doc Todd's" medical practice website (http://www.dr-todd.com)?

On his website, click on "Dr. Todd" and "Events" and you should get a pretty good idea of his involvement with the children in his community. He really is very involved.

I don't know how much volunteer work he does from a medical perspective, but I do know that he tells parents to bring their children in for vaccinations and medical needs regardless of their current financial situation, offering to set up a payment plan within their means. It's his philosophy to look after the kids first, and the payment arrangements second.

If you scroll two-thirds down the 2009 Events page(http://www.dr-todd.com/carnival2009/carnival.html), you'll see some interesting videos. The first one has Doc Todd, shall we say, "floating a proposal to Audrey", with a second video showing him being dunked in a vat of water by children at a carnival.

In all do respect Mic, I can see Impatient's point of view. When I was finally referred to a doctor/dentist and God bless his heart, he was gone for a year because he was in Iraq. I was pushed through the system. I was walking around with a dislocated jaw.

On any hand, Kiddoc has my vote Smiling

BTW...you are cute Kiddoc Smiling

Congratulations Kiddoc, on

Congratulations Kiddoc, on your engagement!!! She's pretty pretty!!

Doc Todd (as his patients

Doc Todd (as his patients affectionately refer to him) is not just giving of himself. He appears also to be very much appreciated by his patients at home. I think he really cares about his patients and that it shows in the ratings they give him:

PS: We may have to begin calling him "Shark Tank Todd". Smiling Laughing out loud

What it demonstrates is that you choose medicine for all the right reasons, which is a rarity in today's medical world.

Hi Mick,
I did look at his web page. He's a real sweetie. His patients are very fortunate to be so well loved by their doctor. I'm sure they love him very much in return.

Sure wish we had more like him!
