Let me address this complaint:
In regards to being a pain specialist: I have seen thousands of patients with chronic pain over the years. The vast majority are grateful for the services I have provided them; the above and below comments are a few examples. I chose to practice this type of medicine because it is very satisfying to make a significant difference in people's lives, alleviating the chronic suffering caused by pain. Indeed, patients have come to see me from as far away as Ohio (the United states). I say this not to be boastful, but merely to indicate that I provide a service that is unfortunately scarce. For example, the waiting list for the pain clinic at St Michael's Hospital (in Toronto) is 12 months long!
What are my formal qualifications? I am a family physician who has undergone additional training in chronic pain medicine. I have trained under numerous well known doctors over the years, and have learned much from them. I have personally established and set up an interventional chronic pain clinic, where I also function as the Medical Director. I am a member of the Ontario medical association section on chronic pain. The College of Physicians and Surgeons has approved my change in scope of practice to perform interventional chronic pain management. In addition to my clinical responsibilities , I currently hold a faculty appointment in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, where I teach registered nurses, undergraduate medical students , family practice residents and international medical graduates (IMGs) in the field of chronic non-malignant pain medicine on a daily basis.
I don't appreciate having my credentials called into question by a vengeful person with an obvious "axe to grind".
NOTE: This type of vengeful behavior is a good example of why "ratemds" does not function properly in regards to evaluating physicians over the internet.
